"A grape branch doesn’t bear fruit because of its determined efforts to get sunshine; rather, it simply abides in the vine, and fruit appears. The vine does all the work. In the same way, believers are to be in union with their Savior so that spiritual fruit can grow in their life".
Welcome to my blog…to my life.
I’m a California girl…born and raised here…spent a few years in Colorado, but California holds my roots.
I’m a child of God and blessed to know Jesus…his grace and love are priceless to me.
I’m a daughter and sister, wife and mother…three times each out of three of these. I’ve experienced young widowhood, divorce and true kindred spirit love. I’m a friend, an open book and a truth seeker. I create without following recipes or reading music...I thoughtfully and creatively photograph images that speak to my heart…and hope to yours.
So, come share my life through the eye of a camera lens. I will show you pieces of what I see, tell you stories about them and often write a prayer along the way.
Blessings to you,
Patti

Grapevines and Abiding
Today I read this in my daily devotional In Touch by Charles Stanley...Loved it!

Antsy Mc Clain and The Trailer Park Troubadours {Sacramento Photographer, Grass Valley Photographer}
Last weekend Johnny and I had such fun going to Grass Valley to photograph an event that the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition put on. They had Antsy McClain and The Trailer Park Troubadours with them for a fund raiser. The band was wonderful! Johnny had heard of them before, but I had not. What a fun band! If you ever have a chance to see them they are very upbeat and funny. Here are a few shots from the evening!

Gratituesday Time! {Sacramento Food Photographer, Roseville Food Photographer, Rocklin Food Photographer}
Well, my job has some fun perks! So, this Gratatuesday I am thankful for some special and delicious food that we were blessed with! Johnny and I headed out to Grass Valley to take some advertizing shots for the Nevada County Gold Magazine last Thursday afternoon. I had nine appointments to take photos of local businesses. Johnny and I went from one place to another and had such a nice time getting to know the restaurant owners! But the perk that I am talking about is the wonderful food that they would gift us with. Below are three dishes that we were given to enjoy that day after photographing them for the magazine. The Thai meal that we were blessed with from Taste of Thai, we took to a park and ate out in the warm sunshine together. Mind you, this was the park were we walked to after our first official date together…special! The shrimp and pasta was from 5 Mile House…we enjoyed it there while listening to a local artist, Paul Kamm play his guitar and sing beautifully…I bought a CD of his music. And the beautiful salad and pita bread from Cirinos that we had to take home on ice…as we were just too full to eat a thing more! Johnny and I had such a fun day together…I will remember it for a long time! I am grateful for my amazing husband and the delicious food that we were so graciously given!

Crafter's Cottage {Grass Valley Photographer, Sacramento Photographer}
Over the past three years I have taken photos for ads and articles for use in the Nevada County Gold Magazine. It’s really been wonderful getting to know so many of the local merchants. One of them I know very well…Julie Gold, owner of Crafters Cottage. I actually just stopped in on her this past week to visit while on my way to one of my NC Gold Magazine jobs. Wow! Her store is so very darling! Since I had my camera with me I offered to take some shots for her web site. I found out that she already had photos taken from another friend of ours Michelle Coomler of Turning Leaf Studios but she wanted a few more taken even still. So, here is a peek at the most darling little shop in Penn Valley (close to Grass Valley for those of you who haven’t heard of this sweet little place). Julie is such a sweet lady and has such a talent for design. She even sells furniture that she has refinished. Stop by and see her and tell her that her fan Patti sent you!

My work has been published in the online version of the San Francisco Examiner about this weekends upcoming event "Behind the Cellar Doors". It features Chef Athena Mackis and the food that she will be creating at Terra d'oro winery March 6th and 7th. I will be photographing Athena in action, and it promises to be a wonderful weekend, so come join us!

A Wedding Affair For all Seasons-Bridal Fair
What a fun time I had with my friend Dori at the bridal fair at Miners Foundry in Nevada City a week and a half ago! Here are a couple of photos that two other photographers sent me from that day. Thanks to Melanie of Essence Photography and Lydia of Lydia Photography!
